Despite a design that hasn’t won over everyone, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 has enjoyed a certain level of success since its launch. In fact, the Korean automaker’s electric sedan has just received its first update, along with the addition of several new versions to its lineup.
We already know the identity of the standard version as well as the N Line model, but something spotted in the background of an official photo has certainly sparked our curiosity—and for good reason. The vehicle I want to draw your attention to is the one positioned in the center, behind the other two. A large rear wing and other aggressive visual elements are clearly visible. This is very likely the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N, a version we’ve been eagerly anticipating.
Performance Front and Center
The letter N typically signals a host of technical upgrades. The massive wing and rear bumper shown by Hyundai are just a preview of what the new Ioniq 6 N might offer. We can expect an equally bold front end, high-performance wheels, and a full side skirt package to complete the sporty look.
While technical specifications have yet to be released, it’s reasonable to assume the setup will be similar to that of the Ioniq 5 N. That model is powered by multiple electric motors delivering a combined output of 601 horsepower and 545 lb-ft of torque—figures that can rise to 641 horsepower and 568 lb-ft with the N Grin Boost mode engaged. The Ioniq 5 N can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.4 seconds, while offering an average range of 356 kilometers on a full charge. Thanks to its aerodynamic profile, the Ioniq 6 N could deliver even more impressive performance.
We’ll have to wait a little longer to learn more about the Korean automaker’s future performance EV. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N will be officially unveiled this coming July.
